Pasco police to release details about shooting Tuesday
Pasco police officials plan a news conference Tuesday to release more information about Saturday’s officer-involved shooting.
Officials said they would name the suspect wounded in the shooting, as well as the officers involved.
No other details were available Monday about the gun fight that started at 910 S. Ninth Avenue.
Pasco officers were investigating a violent domestic dispute just before midnight Saturday.
A man refused to listen to officer commands, officials said. When police tried using a Taser, the device didn’t stop the 31-year-old Pasco man, they said.
Then, the man grabbed a silver-colored pistol, pointed it at officers and fired.
Officers returned fire, wounding the man. No officers were wounded.
The Tri-City Special Investigation Unit, with officers from other departments in the area, is in charge of investigating what happened.
