Injured driver charged with DUI after Benton County rollover

A California driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after rolling his car on Highway 240 in Benton County on Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Isaias Ascencio-Beneros, 25, of Bakersfield, Calif., was about 24 miles northwest of the Tri-Cities when he drove his Buick four-door onto the shoulder of the road and overcorrected, according to police reports.

He rolled the car about 7:40 p.m.

He and his passenger, Baldemar Alvarez-Marciel, 28, of Bakersfield, were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the state patrol.
