Morning commute turns hot for Kennewick driver
Engine problems turned fiery for a man driving in Kennewick Thursday morning.
The driver was approaching the intersection of Clearwater Avenue and Edison Street when smoke started billowing from the engine compartment of his Ford Mercury.
He tried to pull to the side of the road, but the car stalled before he could get over.
He managed to climb out as the flames spread. When officers arrived, they tried to douse the fire, but it continued to grow until Kennewick fire crews arrived to put it out.
No one was hurt.
