Richland police are looking for a person who stole a purse from a 96-year-old woman and blew $740 on games, smokes and gift cards.

The suspect snatched the elderly woman’s purse Aug. 18 as the woman waited for a ride at the Richland Fred Meyer. Police say the suspect took the purse from beside her, then went to Walmart.

An accomplice used one of the woman’s credit cards to buy several gift cards and a case of Marlboro cigarettes. The accomplice then went to Gamestop, where they bought a Sony PlayStation game console.

Richland Officer Ukiah Peterson asks anyone who recognizes the person using the card to contact police dispatch at 509-628-0333. The case number is 17-19058.
