WSP expands 395 shooting search to south Kennewick
An altercation between several motorcycle riders that led to one being shot on Friday may have started in south Kennewick.
Washington State Patrol investigators have expanded their search for witnesses to Highway 395 in Kennewick, all the way to north of Pasco near the King City Truck Stop and Foster Wells Road.
Detective Scott Neustel said in a news release that the initial dispute may have involved motorcycles, passenger vehicles and pickup trucks driving erratically.
By the time they got through Pasco, one motorcyclist ended up shot in the leg.
The man’s identity or any other information about him still has not been released. He was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco after the 12:50 p.m. shooting.
An agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives joined the investigation Friday evening and Franklin County Prosecutor Shawn Sant visited the scene.
At least one of the two northbound lanes of the highway were closed near Pasco for more than six hours while detectives searched the area for evidence.
State patrol detectives want to talk to anyone who witnessed the shooting or any events leading up to it.
If you have any details that could help the investigation, contact Detective Neustel at 509-734-5818, 509-249-6743 or Scott.Neustel@wsp.wa.gov.
