Police arrest 2 in Richland drug bust Wednesday

Two people were caught in a drug bust in Richland on Wednesday morning.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office gang team served a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of Cascade Avenue after Matthew S. Gilbert, 34, allegedly sold heroin to an informant.

Deputies arrested Gilbert on suspicion of selling heroin.

Kristin N. Link, 23, was arrested for an unrelated felony warrant.

Authorities did not release information about the amount of drugs discovered in the search. Richland police and the U.S. Marshals Service helped in serving the search warrant.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are expected.
