A Walla Walla man who robbed three Kennewick convenience stores in just over a week is behind bars.

Kennewick police, with the help of Walla Walla detectives, arrested Lawrence Butt, 30, of Walla Walla, on Wednesday afternoon, just a day after the last holdup.

Butt was linked to a July 20 robbery at USA Gasoline at Clearwater, a Saturday robbery at the Clearwater Avenue Circle K, and a Tuesday afternoon robbery at the Shell Station on First Avenue.

In each he used a different weapon, including a knife, a crowbar and a nail puller.

Officers received tips that Butt may be connected with the robberies and tracked him to a house on West Rose Street, where he was arrested.

He is expected to be booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of three counts of first-degree robbery.
