Man tries to escape Richland police in car chase
A man wasn’t in much of a hurry to get away from Richland police Friday afternoon.
A Richland officer stopped Derrick W. McCuaig, 32, at about 1:25 p.m. for a traffic infraction. A license check revealed he had warrants for failing to appear in court or pay fines.
McCuaig drove away and led officers on a 25-minute chase through the center of the city, topping out at 35 mph, police said.
He was arrested after stopping in the Alyson Manor Mobile Estates.
