The Benton and Franklin county sheriff’s offices want boaters to stay dry on the water.

Deputies are participating in a national three-day campaign called Operation Dry Water, running Friday through Sunday, aimed at cracking down on people boating while intoxicated.

State law prohibits people from operating a vessel with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08.
