Palouse Falls State Park in Franklin County was evacuated and temporarily closed Thursday because of a fire burning north of the park.

The fire started Wednesday and had begun to die down before it was reignited by the winds. It was under control late Thursday afternoon.

No estimate of the size of the fire, which burned across wildlands, was available.

Franklin County Fire Districts 1 and 2 and Adams County Fire District 7 responded.
