Kennewick warns of ‘free trip’ scam

The city of Kennewick wants residents to know that if someone claiming to be from the city offers a free trip, it’s a scam.

The city reports it was recently notified by a citizen that they had been called by someone claiming to be a city employee. The caller offered to provide a free trip.

The city warns that it is not giving out trips and that the call is likely a scam. Anyone receiving similar calls should report them to 509-682-0333.
