West Richland officials are threatening $250 fines for anyone caught illegally dumping garbage at city parks.

Police posted two photos to Facebook this week showing Dumpsters overflowing with a ladder, suitcase and, even, a door.

The trash containers at the parks are for trash after picnics, pinatas or birthday parties, they said.

Violators could be fined up to $250.

Police ask anyone who sees illegal dumping to call emergency dispatchers right away at 509-628-0333.
