Kennewick police ask public to identify alcohol thief
Police are asking the public to help identify a thief believed to have stolen from the Kennewick Safeway twice.
Two men stole a shopping cart with about $500 worth of items from the Safeway at 2825 West Kennewick Avenue on Nov. 17, said Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin. The theft was discovered when the store reviewed security surveillance video.
One of the suspects returned at 1 p.m. on Dec. 11 and stole about $250 worth of alcohol by using a shopping cart. Lattin said the store security discovered the theft through video surveillance review.
The Pasco police found the cart and some of the alcohol still in it. Safeway filed a report with the police to retrieve their property.
If people recognize the man in the picture, they are asked to call the police at 509-628-0333 or Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
