Toyota pickup takes down light pole, gets left behind

The Toyota pickup truck went through the light pole in Kennewick on Friday and the driver ran away, leaving it behind.

The 1988 Toyota pickup struck a light pole at the intersection of West Hood Avenue and North Ely Street around 6 a.m., knocking it down, said Officer Aaron Hamel.

A passing driver noticed the pickup and told police, but it was abandoned.

Police are trying to reach the registered owner and do not know if driver was hurt.

People with information about the hit-and-run are asked to call the Kennewick police at 509-628-0333. They ask callers to reference number 16-38716.
