File photo

Johnny J. Rains man died after his white 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic two miles west of Naches on Nov. 4.

His name and the more information about the fatal collision were released after his next of kin were notified.

The 50-year-old Naches man was driving west on Highway 12 and stopped to make a left turn. Rains’ car was rear-ended by a brown 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Wendy A. Gaiser, 50, of Naches, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision pushed Rains’ car into on-coming traffic, causing it to collide with a blue 2011 Toyota Rav4 driven by Judith R. Cook, 76, of Lacey.

Gaiser was injured and taken to the Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

The state patrol reports the cause of the collisions is under investigation.
