Pit bull killed by police during Moses Lake drug raid
A female pit bull dog was killed by police as they served a warrant on a Moses Lake home to search for heroin.
The Moses Lake Tactical Response Team assisted the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team in serving a search warrant at home in the 4300 block of Miller Drive Northeast in Moses Lake early Thursday morning.
“Unfortunately, as (law enforcement) members entered the house, they were charged by a female pit bull dog. One of the team members was forced to shoot and kill the dog,” stated the Moses Lake police.
The search led to the discovery of heroin and drug paraphernalia, but the amount was not disclosed by law enforcement.
Three people were arrested during the raid. Alfredo Gomez, 54, Moses Lake, was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant. Laura A. Goff, 49, was booked on a warrant for theft. Stephanie L. Rice, 30, was arrested on a traffic warrant.
