15-year-old girl hit by car in Richland

A 15-year-old girl was hit by a car at about 7 a.m. Wednesday as she crossed Wellsian Way in the rain at the intersection with Aaron Drive in Richland.

She was in the crosswalk, but police have not determined if she or the driver of the car had the right of way based on the stoplight and pedestrian crossing signal at the corner, according to Richland police.

She was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland as a precaution because she had been knocked down by the car, according to police.
