Several collisions were reported Wednesday morning near Richland as cars slid on rain-slick roadways.

About four crashes, none serious, happened between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. on 10 miles of Interstate 182, including one near the Queensgate Drive exit, according to the Washington State Patrol and state Department of Transportation.

“This is the fourth crash we’ve had this morning on 182 alone,” said Trooper Chris Thorson. “We’re having a lot of problems out here.”

The wrecks were likely because of an increased amount of rainfall in the Tri-Cities, he said.

He recommended that drivers lower their speed based on weather conditions.
