Kennewick collision sends van into ditch

A minivan landed in a ditch Friday morning after another car slammed into it near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Garfield Street in Kennewick.

The van was north on Garfield about 9 a.m. and tried turning left in front of the black sedan, said Kennewick police. The front end of the van ended up in the small drainage ditch.

The streets were closed briefly while tow trucks worked to remove the damaged cars, said police.

Police said the injuries appeared to be minor.
