Police: Shoplifter brandished knife outside Kennewick grocery

A shoplifter at Safeway on Kennewick Avenue brandished a knife as an employee followed him from the store, according to the Kennewick Police Department.

Police were near the store when the report came in of a man trying to shoplift alcohol Friday night. They caught Adrian M. Borjas, 25, of Kennewick, as he ran behind Rite-Aid across the street, according to police reports.

Borjas was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, according to police.
