Swim the Snake at Lyons Ferry Park expanded to include kayaks

The annual Swim the Snake fundraiser at Lyons Ferry State Park will have both a noncompetitive open water swim and a two-stage competitive relay pairing swimmers with kayak or paddle-board paddlers.

The event starts at 11 p.m. Aug. 13 at the park, with check-in starting at 9 a.m. Annual Discover Passes or one-day passes are needed for parking.

The event costs $25 per person. Money raised supports the Dayton and Pomeroy Youth Summer Swim Team programs and the Blue Mountain Resource Conservation and Development Council.

Registration information is posted at swimthesnake.org.
