Palouse Falls, Fletcher Road fires contained
The more than 4,000-acre fire between Palouse Falls and Washtucna was fully contained as of Tuesday afternoon.
Bob Gear, Pasco fire chief, requested state assistance to fight the flames at 9 p.m. Sunday. All agencies have since wrapped up in all North Franklin and Columbia county fires, Gear said.
No homes, crops or other structures were lost in the flames.
The Fletcher Road fire, reported between Walla Walla and Columbia counties, was also contained, Gear said. The fire first started on Aug. 7 and was estimated at 2,000 acres when state assistance was called in Sunday.
