Othello driver killed in I-90 truck wreck

An Othello truck driver was killed Wednesday in a semi-truck wreck on Interstate 90, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Rory D. Hillman, 32, was westbound about 8 a.m. at Milepost 88 three miles east of Cle Elum in a Freightliner flatbed carrying ammonia tanks when he left the roadway, overcorrected and rolled, with the semi coming to a stop on its top in the left ditch, the state patrol said.

Another Freightliner semi, driven by Douglas G. Lowe, 52, of Stevensville, Mont., was also westbound on the interstate and hit the ammonia tanks, the state patrol said. Lowe was uninjured.

Hillman was deceased at the scene, the state patrol said.
