Benton County collects household waste June 18

Benton County Solid Waste will hold the last household hazardous waste collection event of the spring June 18 in Kennewick.

The collection event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Benton Franklin Fairgrounds in Kennewick.

Residents can dispose of paints, solvents, cleaners, automotive fluids, pesticides, fertilizers, batteries, propane tanks and pool/hot tub chemicals.

The program does not accept electronics, fluorescent light bulbs, tires, appliances, explosives, radioactive materials, asbestos, biohazards or trash.

Participants must prove they are Benton County residents.
