Kennewick meeting Friday on natural gas rate increase

A meeting is planned in Kennewick June 17 to allow the state to hear public comment on a rate increase proposed by Cascade Natural Gas.

The Utilities and Transportation Commission will meet at 6 p.m. at the Mid Columbia Libraries Kennewick Branch, 1620 S. Union St.

A settlement agreement reached by Cascade and state commission staff recommends the commission approve an overall rate increase of 1.6 percent. Cascade had proposed a 4.17 percent increase.

Cascade’s last general rate increase was in 2007. Public comments also can be emailed to comment@utc.wa.gov or called into 888-333-9882.
