Geese banding at Columbia Park in Kennewick
Zachary Nelson, 11, of Richland, reacts as he is handed a goose Thursday by Mike Ritter, with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, at Columbia Park in Kennewick.
The wild geese are being banded to record their migration, survival and harvest. Anyone interested in assisting Fish and Wildlife in future projects, including more wildlife banding this summer, can fill out a volunteer form at wdfw.wa.gov/about/volunteer/.
