Pickup crashes into Kennewick building
A visitor to Kennewick drove his full-size pickup into a concrete and steel building about 4 p.m. Monday when he had a medical emergency.
The building at 400 E. Columbia Drive is used for storage for Zip’s fast food restaurants.
It sustained structural damage when the pickup hit a concrete column in an exterior wall. It will need shoring before employees can safely enter the building, according to the Kennewick Fire Department.
The driver of the pickup was wearing his seat belt but still had injuries to his face and scalp. He was taken to Trios Southridge Hospital in Kennewick. His pickup had significant damage to the engine compartment.
The hometown of the man was not available, but fire department officials said he was a resident of Washington state.
