Students, Rotarians team up to build wheelchair ramp for Kennewick senior

Southridge High senior Elijah Gomez, left, and Hanford High junior Logan Butler, both Tri-Tech Skills Center construction trades students, work together Tuesday to build a wheelchair ramp for a homebound senior citizen in Kennewick.

About 40 students from the program were scheduled to help with the ramp building, repairs and cleanup of the house on West 27th Avenue, according to instructor Tony Milewski.

The program is a community service partnership with the Columbia Valley Daybreak Rotary Club in Kennewick.

The club buys the constructions materials for the students to install, according to club member Brandon Miln.
