Richland city official is finalist for top city job in Southern Oregon

Jon Amundson, assistant city manager for Richland, is one of three finalists for the city manager job in Medford, Ore.

The Southern Oregon city disclosed the finalists during a council meeting Thursday. The city manager’s office confirmed the selection and said the council is working through the selection process. It has not decided when it will make a final decision.

Amundson has served as Richland’s assistant city manager since 2008, earning $125,000 a year, according to the Mail Tribune of Medford.

The other candidates are Rob Partridge, district attorney for Klamath County, and James Thompson, retired city manager in Casa Grande, Ariz.

The Mail Tribune said the city is looking for a new city manager after firing its former city manager June 4, 2015.
