Richland councilman joins state building board
Richland City Councilman Phillip Lemley will represent the Association of Washington Cities on the State Building Code Council.
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Lemley to represent the 280 Washington Municipalities to a term that started on April 13. His term runs through 2019.
The council advises the state Legislature on building code issues.
“He has always been a strong advocate for high professional and ethical standards, so his leadership on the (council) will be a great asset to the Governor,” said Richland City Manager Cindy Reents.
Lemley was first appointed to the Richland City Council in January 2010.
