Laser shows begin at Grand Coulee Dam on May 28
The Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center begins its popular summer light show May 28.
The center opens daily at 8:30 a.m. and closes one hour past the start of the nightly Laser Light Show. The show begins at 10 p.m. through the end of July. It begins at 9:30 p.m. in August and at 8:30 p.m. in September.
The center also will increase the number of public tours into the dam’s John W. Keys III Pump-Generating Plant. The hourlong tours are daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The pumps lift water from Lake Roosevelt to Banks Lake, which then delivers water throughout the Columbia Basin.
Grand Coulee Dam is on the Columbia River about 90 miles west of Spokane. It was completed in 1941 and supports irrigation, flood control and recreation.
