Nuclear society talk planned on Nobel Prize research

Richard Kouzes, who contributed to research that resulted in a Nobel Prize-winning discovery, is the speaker for the Eastern Washington Section of the American Nuclear Society’s May dinner seminar.

Kouzes, a Pacific Northwest National Laboratory fellow, will discuss neutrino research. The discovery that neutrinos, cosmic particles that whiz through space at nearly the speed of light, have mass recently won a Nobel Prize.

There is no charge for attending his talk at 7 p.m. May 17 at the Red Lion Hanford House in Richland. Those who want to attend the dinner meeting an hour earlier will be charged $22. Dinner reservations are due May 13 by going to events at www.anseasternwashington.org.
