Angry tresspasser lands in jail for assaulting officer

A Benton County man who assaulted a Kennewick police officer attempting to remove him from a grocery store was booked in the county jail on felony assault.

Police were called to the Kennewick Albertsons store to remove a trespasser. Christopher Johnson, 42, struck the responding officer on the side of his face.

The officer summoned backup to subdue the suspect. He was not injured.

Johnson was evaluated at Trios Health before being booked into jail.
