Three injured when car hits semi near Othello

A man, woman and child from Royal City were injured Friday night when their vehicle struck a left-turning semi near Othello.

The Washington State Patrol reported that a 2014 Nissan Sentra struck a 2004 Peterbilt truck when both were headed westbound on Highway 26, about six miles west of Othello. The Nissan attempted to pass the truck when it slowed to make a left turn and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Nissan, Abel Barajas Ramirez, 44, and his passengers, Maria Garcia, 44, and Carlos Barajas, 8, were taken to Othello Community Hospital. Their conditions were not released Saturday.

The car was towed from the scene. The semi driver was not inured and was able to drive away from the scene.
