Tri-City police to collect expired prescription pills April 30

Tri-City police departments are teaming up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to collect expired, unwanted and unused prescription pills from Tri-City families on April 30.

Medications can be handed to officers at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Walmart at 4820 Road 68 in Pasco; Richland Police Department at 871 George Washington Way; Kennewick Police Department at 211 W. Sixth Ave.; West Richland Police Department at 3805 W. Van Giesen St.

Liquids and needles will not be accepted. The collection is part of an ongoing effort to prevent pill abuse and theft. The service is free and anonymous.
