Campaign to repeal transgender restroom law stops April 28 in Pasco

A group trying to repeal Washington’s new policies on transgender restroom access is holding an informational meeting April 28 in Pasco.

The “Just Want Privacy” campaign is stopping at the Mid-Columbia Libraries’ Pasco Branch at 5:30 p.m.

A post by the campaign’s team says the free community meeting is “to inform and equip you to help keep men out of girls’ locker rooms.”

They encourage people to come to 1320 W. Hopkins St. and learn about the push to get an initiative on the November ballot, while also meeting others who “care about protecting privacy.”

Washington’s anti-discrimination law protects people in their places of employment and public accommodation, like showers and locker rooms in public schools.

The law allows people to use the facility that matches their gender expression or identity, and not the gender on their birth certificate.
