Public service picnic planned May 5 in Kennewick

Public servants from local, state and federal agencies will be recognized May 5 at the Gesa Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick’s Southridge Sports Complex.

A free picnic dinner with hot dogs and hamburgers will be served. Kennewick Mayor Steve Young and state Rep. Mary Dye, R-Pomeroy, are expected to speak.

The event, sponsored by Council 28 of the Washington Federation of State Employees, marks Washington State Public Service Recognition Week.

The event will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with carousel rides from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Participants should bring lawn chairs. The carousel is at 2901 Southridge Blvd.
