Watch W. Richland ducklings via webcam (w/video)

The first ducklings have hatched this spring in a nesting box along the Yakima River with a webcam installed by the Richland Rod and Gun Club.

Wood duck babies usually leave the nest the morning after they hatch because wood ducks do not feed their young in the nest. You can watch the ducklings “jump” live at ustream.tv/channel/wild-wood-ducks Wednesday morning.

Dale Schielke of the club plans to post video after the jump. You can check at www.rrgcwoodducks.org/in-box-cameras.

See video highlights of last spring’s jumps at www.tricityherald.com/video.
