Cascade Natural Gas a founding partner in EPA challenge

Cascade Natural Gas of Kennewick is one of the founding partners of the Environmental Protection Agency’s new Methane Challenge Program.

Cascade will focus on excavation damages in the program, which focuses on commitments to reduce methane emissions.

“Excavation damage to our natural gas pipelines by third parties is a significant cause of our emissions and the main reason we are placing our focus on this area,” said Nicole Kivisto, Cascade president.

The company will promote and provide education to encourage homeowners and businesses to call before they dig to make sure there are no natural gas utilities in the area.

More information on the Call Before You Dig program is posted at www.cngc.com.
