William F. Carroll, Jr., a past president of the American Chemical Society, will discuss how physical sciences thinking informs popular music analytics at 4 p.m. April 22.

He will discuss the methodologies used for creating the charts and compare various schemes for determining the strongest charting songs, with plenty of examples played.

The talk is at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory on the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory campus, 3335 Innovation Blvd.
