Jazz Unlimited competition coming to CBC

Heads up, jazz lovers: two weekends worth of jazz performances held largely at Columbia Basin College kick off April 15.

Jazz Unlimited! will feature more than 4,000 high and middle school students from three states performing in jazz and concert bands and choirs.

The event features a performance from renowned jazz musician Randy Brecker at 7 p.m. April 15 at the Kennewick High School auditorium. Tickets are available at the door and Ted Brown Music.

The school concert and jazz band competitions are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 15-16 in the Gjerde Center on the CBC Pasco campus.

Concert and jazz choirs are to compete April 22-23, preceded by a performance of CBC jazz choir FreeForm, at 7:30 p.m. April 21 in the CBC Theatre.

Everything is free and open to the public.
