West Richland taking applications for community garden

The city of West Richland’s Community Garden program is currently accepting applications for interested residents.

The garden offers 42 raised garden beds, including six disabled-accessible beds, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. WSU Master Gardeners will provide community gardeners with free seeds, expert advice, and assistance throughout the growing season.

The community garden is located at Yellowstone Trail Park on Austin Drive near the intersection of Bombing Range Road and Van Giesen Street (106 Austin Drive). The rental of each 4’ x 8’ bed is only $10 for the 2016 season. Water, hoses, and nozzles are provided, but all other tools are to be supplied by the gardeners.

Registration forms and garden policies are available online at westrichland.org; by phone at 509-967-5902; or in person at the Community Development Office, 3801 W. Van Giesen St.
