Pasco neighborhood evacuated due to gas leak (w/video)

A driver fleeing from police crashed into a Pasco home Monday afternoon, rupturing a gas line and causing an evacuation of neighbors in the area.

Alberto Aviles-Bahena allegedly sped off in a Mustang after an officer tried to make a traffic stop near Court Street and 14th Avenue, police said

The officer quickly called off the pursuit for safety reasons, police said. Aviles-Bahena then lost control while turning, crashing into the home on the 1900 block of 13th Avenue.

Police say the house was occupied, though no injuries were reported.

Aviles-Bahena ran from the scene and has not yet been arrested, police said.

Neighbors were allowed to return to their homes after a few hours.
