Nonprofit plans meetings for ill nuclear workers

Cold War Patriots plans meetings to help ill Hanford or Pacific Northwest National Laboratory workers understand compensation and free medical benefits that might be available to them or their survivors.

The meetings are at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 12 at the Hampton Inn, 486 Bradley Blvd., Richland; and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 14 at the Red Lion Hotel, 802 George Washington Way, Richland.

Cold War Patriots is a business-related nonprofit started by a home nursing care company.

The Department of Labor offers compensation and medical care reimbursement to nuclear workers made ill or injured by exposure to radiation or toxic chemicals.
