Richland man injured in crash near Selah

A Richland man was injured Thursday when the Jeep Cherokee he was driving ran into the back of a semi truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Brandon Marcear, 24, of Richland was driving north on Interstate 82 about nine miles north of Selah when his Jeep hit the semi, which also was traveling north, at 5:27 p.m, according to police reports.

Marcear was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. The driver of the semi, Ismael Marquez, 57, of Milton-Freewater, was not injured.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
