Jazz gala fundraiser for college scholarships on April 9

A fundraiser to benefit scholarships for African-American children and youth of African heritage is planned April 9.

The fifth annual Gala Jazz Fundraiser from The Links Tri-Cities starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Pasco Red Lion. This year’s theme is “Jazz with a Touch of Class.”

The Links Tri-Cities is the local chapter of a national organization of black women committed to community service and helping youth pursue higher education.

The evening includes dinner, dancing and live entertainment from jazz artist Josephine Howell and her live band. There also will be a silent auction.

Admission is $50 per person and tickets can be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets at bit.ly/JazzGala2016. Guests are asked to wear semi-formal attire.
