Founder of Spokane’s Tiny Homes speaking in Richland on April 8

The founder of Spokane’s Tiny Homes Village will be the guest speaker at the April 8 meeting of the Tri-Cities Democrats.

Ian Robertson will talk about establishing a similar program aimed at helping the homeless here in the Tri-Cities, a news release said. The meeting will be at the Laborers’ Hall at 2505 W. Duportail St. in Richland.

Robertson established the Spokane program to help the homeless by building affordable housing with the help of volunteers and donations as well as lease-to-own arrangements with potential homeowners. Drug and alcohol rehabilitation and employment training are also part of the project.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with a potluck at 6 p.m. The presentation starts at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
