Vancouver woman injured in Richland crash

A Vancouver woman was injured Tuesday evening in a two-car crash on Highway 240, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Keele T. Van Dyken, 25, was trying to merge from eastbound 240 to westbound Interstate 182 about 5:30 p.m. when she stopped for traffic and was rear-ended by Michael R. Precechtel, 52, of Richland, the state police said.

Van Dyken was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where she was treated and released.

Both drivers were wearing seat beats. Van Dyken’s Chevy Prism and Precechtel’s Volkswagen were towed.

Precechtel was cited for following too close, the state police said.
