Kennewick plays key role in 2016 Big Sky Rally
Kennewick will serve as the starting line and host city for the final leg of Rally North America’s Big Sky Rally.
The five-day, 1,600-mile road race and scavenger hunt by 80 cars from 31 states is a fundraiser for Camp Sunshine, which serves children with life-threatening illnesses.
The rally begins July 10 in Billings and ends in Portland five days later. Teams of two or more drivers will make 48 stops along historic and scenic locations, navigating secret checkpoints along the way.
Teams will depart July 15 from West Kennewick Avenue between Dayton and Auburn streets. The public is welcome to attend the sendoff from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Attendance is free, but contributions are welcome.
Russel Del Gesso of Ed and Moe’s Pawn Shop and Guitar Bar, the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership and the city of Kennewick organized the event.
