A Kennewick truck driver was killed in a crash Monday on Interstate 84 just east of Boardman.

James W. Crow, 62, was driving a semi towing two milk tankers westbound about 5:41 a.m. when he drifted onto the right shoulder and rolled, according to the Oregon State Police.

Rescuers worked for two hours to extricate Crow from the wreckage, state police said. He was taken to Good Shepard Hospital in Hermiston and then flown to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, where he later died.

About 7,000 gallons of milk were spilled into a small drainage ditch flowing into the Coyote Springs Wildlife area, state police said. No immediate loss of fish or wildlife was observed.
